燕王红战袍与永乐红地白龙器
The Story of Yongle Red Wares
1399年,燕王朱棣发动“靖难之役”。在一个严寒的冬天,朱棣身着鲜红的战袍指挥作战,第二天清晨,士兵们发现朱棣的红战袍上霜花自然凝结成一条腾空飞舞的白龙,三军以为瑞照,士气大振,战果辉煌。1402年,朱棣登基为永乐皇帝。御厂的技师们依据燕王战袍的故事,设计烧造出鲜红地白龙纹瓷器,以表对永乐皇帝的敬意。而这种集“鲜红”与“甜白”于一身的瓷器,则成为永乐官窑不可多得的艺术珍品。
In 1399, Zhu Di, Prince of Yan, plotted a rebellion against the previous emperor and personally led forces in the revolt. In a chilling winter day, Zhu Di still command his army in the battle in a bright red tabard which was found to be decorated by a soaring dragon naturally drawn by snowflakes in the next morning. It was considered to be an auspicious sign, which greatly boosted the morale and finally brought them to victory. In 1402, Zhu Di ascended the throne and declared his new era of Yongle. Based on the tale of his tabard, potters of the Imperial Kiln produced bright red basin white porcelain with dragon decorations as a token of respect. This sort of wares combining bright red and basin white became an extraordinary art treasure of the Yongle Imperial Kiln.
